Tyrese Haliburton's girlfriend Jade Jones reacts in 2 words as Pacers' $58M forward gets engaged
Jade Jones, the girlfriend of Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton, shared her excitement when her boyfriend’s teammate, Obi Toppin, got engaged while the team was in Paris for the NBA Paris games. Toppin and his girlfriend, Magdalena Bellinger, became engaged on Tuesday.
Toppin, who signed a four-year, $58 million contract that started this season, is a key part of the Pacers' core. His fiancée posted pictures from the proposal on Instagram, captioning them with:
“Forever with you 🌹.”
Jones responded to the engagement announcement and shared it on her Instagram Stories, writing:
“They’re ENGAGED!!!!! 🤍💍🫶”
This season, Toppin has played an important role off the bench for the Pacers, averaging 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, almost identical to his numbers from last season when he occasionally started.
The Pacers are currently in Paris for their first international trip in over five years, where they will face the San Antonio Spurs in two regular-season games at the Accor Arena on Thursday and Saturday.
Tyrese Haliburton talks about teammate’s engagement
Tyrese Haliburton shared his thoughts on his teammate's engagement in a video posted by the NBA Europe page, calling Toppin's proposal the highlight of the team's Paris trip.
"Well Obi got engaged, that was pretty cool,” he said. “Puts some pressure on me now, though, so that's awesome. But that was cool to see."
The Pacers also congratulated Toppin on his engagement, sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter) calling it “the perfect Paris proposal.”
“The perfect Paris proposal 💍😍 congratulations to Obi Toppin and his fiancée Mag on their engagement!” the Pacers wrote.
Tyrese Haliburton and Jones have been together since meeting in 2019 at Iowa State University, where he starred on the basketball team and Jones was a cheerleader.

Jones has always been a huge supporter of Haliburton, frequently attending his important games. She also joined him in France for the 2024 Olympics, where he earned his first Olympic gold medal.
