Former Hornets star excited to coach LaMelo Ball next season

The Hornets have a bright future ahead of them as they have a great young core, with LaMelo Ball as their leader. The organization is as excited as the fans that they brought back a former All-Star to be part of the coaching staff. Charlotte hired Kemba Walker, a fan favorite, to become part of Charles Lee's coaching staff as a player enhancement coach.

As a point guard and a franchise star, Walker is aware of what Ball needs to lead the team. He's looking forward to working with the one-time All-Star and possibly putting the Hornets in the conversation as one of the best teams soon.

"I think we can go anywhere that they want to go," Walker said. "I think we have the right pieces, starting with LaMelo. Super excited to get the opportunity to work with him. One of the reasons why I said yes to the job.
"It just made sense, it just flowed. You got Melo, who's unbelievable talent, he's special. Watching him on the court, I can see this organization going really far."

Walker has high hopes for the young point guard and the organization. He believes staying healthy will be the key for Ball to take his game to another level. It'll be his job to ensure the players around the star guard will develop the right way and help the franchise.

The former NBA star played in the league for 12 years and had his best seasons with the Hornets. He was drafted by the organization in 2011 with the ninth pick and was the face of the franchise for eight seasons. Walker averaged 19.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists for Charlotte.
