Victor Wembanyama Stats Tonight: Reigning ROY lights up Wizards from 3-point range in career night (Nov. 13)

Victor Wembanyama went off against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year blazed them from the 3-point line. He had 10 points in the first and 14 points in the second quarter. Wembanyama shot 9-of-17, including 4-of-10 from 3-point range in that span.

He went nuclear in the third quarter, adding 19 points after going 4-of-4 from 3-point range, tallying a career-high 43 points. He shot 8-of-14 from range, also a career-high for him from distance.

The San Antonio Spurs took a 108-91 lead entering the final frame behind Wembanyama's massive night. The sophomore stayed in the game and got this first career 50-point game shortly in the fourth quarter, coming off a layup, a couple of jump shots and a few free throws.

He led the Spurs to a 139-130 win behind his efforts. San Antonio nearly blew that lead after Wembanyama was seemingly done for the night. However, after cutting the lead to 10 with five minutes left, the Spurs subbed in Wembanyama and the starters again. Wembanyama took two more shot attempts but failed to convert.

Victor Wembanyama gloats about first career 50-point game

Victor Wembanyama was proud of his achievement after Wednesday's 50-point game. He didn't shy away from admitting that he felt it was an exclusive list to be a part of.

“It’s definitely a big milestone. It’s kind of a private club. I don’t know how many players are in it but it’s certainly something I’m proud of,' Wembanyama said after the game (h/t Spurs' beat writer Jeff Garcia).

Wembanyama became the 167th NBA player to score 50 points in a game. He did it in record-breaking style, becoming the fourth youngest player to achieve the feat and only the fifth 20-year-old.

Wembanyama also became the first Spurs player to hit at least six 3-pointers in three consecutive games. After a slow start, Victor Wembanyama has been on a tear in that span. Before his 50-point night on Wednesday, he scored 24 points against the Jazz on Saturday and 34 against the Kings on Tuesday.

The Spurs improved to 6-6, winning three of their last four.
