"Vintage" - Giannis Antetokounmpo mocks 33-year-old teammate over aging jokes
Giannis Antetokounmpo minced no words as he hilariously roasted his teammate Khris Middleton in the Milwaukee Bucks' latest social media post. The veteran forward returned from his ankle injury for the side, bolstering the side with his two-way impact. He once again came off the bench on Sunday in their 118-113 win against the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center.
Middleton recorded 11 points, two rebounds, and six assists alongside Antetokounmpo's game-high 34 points and 11 rebounds. Later, on in a social media post that did the rounds, the 'Greek Freak' was asked about Middleton's age and acumen to which he had a typical cheeky Giannis response.
"He's just old. He got to move the ball. Like you see that transition 3 that he made, how slow it was? That was slow. He made it, and yes, vintage."
Khris Middleton has been in injury recovery since the start of the season and suited up against the Boston Celtics last week. He propped up 11 points, three rebounds, and five assists, but the Bucks went down 111-105. He was limited to less than 25 minutes in both his games so far with Doc Rivers and the team's think-tank gradually ramping up his time on the floor.
Giannis Antetokounmpo lauds Khris Middleton's efforts to stay productive upon injury return
In the same video, Giannis Antetokounmpo also added that it was great to have Middleton back in the fold. The 2x NBA MVP praised the veteran for trying to stay productive as he worked his way back to full-tilt ball.
"It’s always great to have him… he’s one of those players that plays the right way. He’s gonna move the ball, put everybody in the right spots. he’s going to get to the right spots too."
As Middleton works his way back to the starting lineup, the Bucks will look to continue their winning ways. Following their torrid start to the season, Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee have bounced back mounting a series of impressive wins to go 12-11 and sit fifth seed in the East. They are 8-4 at the Fiserv Forum and 4-7 on the road. The Bucks are 8-2 in their last 10 games.
Up next, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks host the Orlando Magic and then hit the road to take on the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers. With two tough contests coming up, the team will count on Middleton to roar back to form and continue their good run against both the quality sides.
