"Volleyball dads"- Steph Curry's mom Sonya Curry shows love for Warriors star's link up with LeBron James for Paris Olympics

Steph Curry and LeBron James began their preps for the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday in Team USA's Las Vegas training camp. Fans were excited to see them on the floor together as teammates for the first time for the national team. Steph's mom, Sonya Curry, was among the ones enjoying the occasion.

She expressed her love for the modern-day greats on Instagram, commenting on a Warriors' post featuring James and Curry.

"Volleyball dads!! I love it," Sonya commented.

Sonya referred to James and Curry's daughters, Zhuri and Riley, who are volleyball players in school. The former rivals often attend their daughters' games and boast about their skills online, making them rightful owners of the 'volleyball dads' tag.

LeBron James opens up about teaming up with Steph Curry

LeBron James and Steph Curry have teamed up a few times before during the All-Star weekend. However, those games weren't as competitive compared to what's expected at the 2024 Paris Olympics. It's a dream team scenario with the two rivals, who faced off in four consecutive finals between 2015 and 2018.

James went 1-3 in those series. He couldn't have been more glad to be on the same side as Curry after those battles.

"I'm happy to be to be on the same side as him right now, and also happy to be on the same side as his point guard as well," LeBron James said on Saturday.

Warriors' Steve Kerr will also coach James for the first time. He is the ideal offensive hub in Kerr's schemes for Curry as a playmaker who can draw plenty of attention on the inside to get the NBA's all-time 3-point shooting leader open.

Their complimentary skillsets on display would be a joy to watch, giving the Americans an edge against any opponent they're about to face. They also have a tremendous star cast around them, with Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid and Anthony Davis, among others, on the team.

Team USA is the favorite, but the competition will be difficult. It will be intriguing to watch how LeBron James, Steph Curry, and other stars mesh when the stakes are high. Almost every player on the roster is an alpha on their respective NBA teams, giving this a "Dream Team" and "Redeem Team" feel.

The Americans begin their pre-Olympics campaign with a matchup against rivals Canada led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on July 11, followed by games against Australia (July 15), Serbia (July 17), South Sudan (July 21) and Germany (July 23). The Paris Olympics group stage for the USA begins on July 28 against Serbia.
