"Warriors black magic continues" - NBA fans in shambles as Anthony Edwards suffers brutal ankle injury in Game 2 vs GSW

NBA fans reacted on X as Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards left Game 2 of their semifinal series against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday due to an ankle injury.

Warriors' Trayce Jackson-Davis accidentally stepped on his left ankle during the second quarter as Edwards drove to the rim. He was later helped to the locker room. He returned to the floor at the start of the third quarter.

Several fans said that Golden State seemingly uses "black magic," citing that stars are getting injured when facing the Warriors.

"WARRIORS BLACK MAGIC CONTINUES," a fan tweeted.
"Warriors magic always work," another fan commented.
"Warriors devil magic will never run out," a fan posted.

Here are other fan reactions:

"This series is cursed," one fan commented.
"NBA impossible to bet on," another fan wrote.
"Please no Ant man," a fan said.

Golden State leads the series 1-0. They had a 99-88 Game 1 victory on Tuesday at Target Center in Minneapolis. Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 23 points and 14 rebounds on 9-for-22 shooting.

Minnesota won its first-round series 4-1 against LeBron James and the LA Lakers. On the other hand, Golden State dismantled the Houston Rockets in seven games.

Anthony Edwards responds to Chris Finch's comments on Game 1 loss

Minnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch blamed the Game 1 loss on Anthony Edwards' struggles early in the game.

"It starts with Anthony," Finch said postgame. "I thought he struggled early. Then you could just kinda see the light go out a little for a while. Obviously, we had to try to get him going in the second half."

Minnesota had a forgetful first half in Game 1, wherein the Golden State Warriors held them to just 31 points. Edwards scored just one point on 0-for-8 shooting. He had seven rebounds, two steals and two assists in the first 24 minutes.

When asked about Finch's comments, Edwards responded that he was impactful on the other end. Golden State scored 44 points in the first half behind Draymond Green's 16 and Steph Curry's 13.

"I feel like I played great defense, I just couldn't do nothing on offense," Edwards said.

Games 3 and 4 of the best-of-seven series shift to Chase Center in San Francisco on Saturday and Monday. Game 5 will be on Wednesday in Minnesota.
