Warriors fan Kamala Harris gets candid on ‘smack’ talk with husband who supports rival teams

Democratic Party presidential nominee Kamala Harris has been a lifelong Golden State Warriors fan. Harris, who was born in Oakland, has a deep connection with San Fransisco. The Warriors fan opened up about her and her husband Doug Emhoff's connection with sports.

In a conversation with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson at the White House on Monday, the U.S. vice president opened up about being a die-hard fan of the Dubs. She also said that since her husband grew up in Los Angeles, their loyalty lay for different teams.

Harris spoke about loyalty in general and how it has always been important to her (4:26):

"My husband and I had different teams. ... He moved to LA when he was a teenager, so most of his most of his teams are LA teams. So, you know, depending on who is playing who on what time of the year,... It's very real, like talking some smack."

Harris spent her childhood in the Warriors neighborhood. She was elected as the district attorney of San Francisco in 2003 and was the attorney general of California from 2010 to 2017.

Warriors superstar Steph Curry endorsed Kamala Harris at DNC convention

Before Team USA men's basketball left for Paris to participate in the Olympics, Kamala Harris made sure that she met with all the players. The vice president took time out to visit the team at their practice facility in Las Vegas.

After Steph Curry and Co. won gold, the Warriors superstar made a public endorsement for the Democratic Party nominee. At the DNC Convention in August, Curry made a surprising appearance on the United Center's big screen.

Curry said:

"That unity on and off the court reminded us that together we can do all things and continue to inspire the world. That's why I believe that Kamala as president could bring that unity back and continue to move us forward."

Curry has previously shown his support for Harris. According to The Guardian, Curry said that Harris brought her energy when she showed up for Warriors games and now he is doing the same for her.
