Warriors' new big man Quinten Post's proud girlfriend drops hysterical reaction to celebrate draft news
The Golden State Warriors selected Quinten Post with the 52nd pick of the 2024 NBA Draft. It was not just one of the best days of Post’s life but also his family and loved ones, including his girlfriend. His girlfriend's reaction to his name being announced in the draft went viral.
The girlfriend of the newly drafted Warriors player shared the video of Post waiting for his name to be announced along with his father and mother. While Post’s father was recording the announcement, his girlfriend sat with her hands on her face.
As soon as his name was called as the Dubs' pick, his girlfriend jumped onto his lap and tightly hugged him. His parents also joined the celebration shortly afterward.
Posting the video on her IG story, Post’s girlfriend shared an endearing message for him:
“No words can describe how proud I am of you. You deserve the world and more. Congratulations to my whole world, you career is just beginning,” she wrote tagging the Warriors in the post.
Post was selected in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. A pairing with Steph Curry could be something that the Warriors explore going forward. His ability to shoot 3-pointers could earn him a place in the rotation.
All about Warriors’ 52nd pick Quinten Post in 2024 NBA Draft
Quinten Post could be a solid pick for the Golden State Warriors. Initially, the team had traded their second-round pick to the OKC Thunder, but they reacquired the pick for cash.
While it is still a big question as to why other teams did not select the big man, the acquisition of Post could say a lot about what the team expects at center.
Post had a great 2023-24 season with the Boston College. Not only can Post dominate the paint with his size, but he also shoots efficiently from beyond the arc. Since his freshman year, he shot 38.8% from the 3-point range, but this season, his 3-point shooting increased to 43.1%.
Post is not of the conventional age group that the NBA draft sees. He is already 24 years old, but he could become a big talking point in the next few years. Under the watchful eye of head coach Steve Kerr, his potential remains high.
Last season with Boston College, Post averaged 17.0 points on 51.4% shooting from the field. He also averaged 8.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. He was named ACC Most Improved Player in 2023 and ACC All-Defensive Team in 2024.
