Watch: Zion Williamson breakdances into a reverse jam to entertain fans on Jordan Brand Asia tour
New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson joined a slew of NBA stars for Jordan Brand's China tour. The former top draft pick showcased his athleticism to entertain his Asian fans.
In a clip posted by Overtime, Williamson was seen sitting and circling in the free-throw line. He then stood up and performed a reverse dunk to a loud ovation from his fans.
Here is the clip:
Williamson was joined by fellow Jordan Brand ambassadors Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic, Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics.
Williamson, Tatum and Doncic all have a shoe line with Jordan Brand and are three of the biggest athletes associated with the company. The tour stops in Shanghai and Beijing and is set to finish on Sept. 2.
Zion Williamson entering his sixth season in NBA
Zion Williamson will be entering his sixth season in the NBA after being selected with the top pick in the 2019 draft. The former Duke star has struggled to be healthy throughout his career, playing only 184 games, the equivalent of two seasons.
Williamson has undergone a body transformation ahead of the new season. According to Ian Casselberry of Yahoo Sports, Williamson’s weight has reduced by more than 25 pounds since December. He also reported that earlier this month that Williamson weighed 281 pounds, a little less than the 285 pounds he stood at when he was at Duke.
Casselberry also said Williamson's target is to be 272 pounds when the NBA season starts in late October.
Williamson’s health is crucial for the Pelicans as they aim to be a playoff team once more. They have added former NBA All-Star Dejounte Murray to their current core which includes CJ McCollum, Trey Murphy and Herb Jones.
As for Williamson, he intends to build from last season and finally play in the playoffs.
“Hopefully, do what I need to do so I can participate in the playoffs next year," he said during last season's exit interviews, per NBA.com.
Zion is averaging 24.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game and shooting 59.2% from the field. Last year, he missed the Pelicans' first-round series versus the Thunder due to an injury he sustained in the play-in tournament.
