Watch: Al Horford's 2003 Miss Universe Award Winning wife Amelia Vega distracts Giannis Antetokounmpo courtside
Giannis Antetokounmpo wasn't having it easy against the Boston Celtics at the free throw line in the third quarter, thanks to Al Horford's wife, Amelia Vega. The 2003 Miss Universe winner distracted the Bucks superstar as he stepped up to the charity stripe with 9:52 left in the third. Vega stood up and riled up the crowd behind her as the Celtics' faithful tried to force a miss from the two-time MVP.
Here's the video:
The move worked on his first attempt, as Giannis missed it. However, the Bucks' start didn't brick two in a row. The Bucks retained a three-point lead. Interestingly, Amelia Vega's husband, Al Horford, missed the 3 on the other end following Giannis' free throw attempts.
Al Horford, wife Amelia Vega and Celtics have plenty to cheer after winning season series against Bucks
Al Horford, his wife, Amelia Vega, and the Celtics had the last laugh against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks after they won the contest 111-105. The Celtics improved to 3-0 against Milwaukee, winning the season series. Jayson Tatum shone for the defending champions with 34 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, shooting 60.0%.
Meanwhile, Giannis was the Bucks' best player with 30 points and 11 rebounds on 52.0% shooting. Damian Lillard also dropped a 31-point game, shooting 48.0%. However, the supporting cast didn't provide the same punch the Celtics' role players landed.
Amelia Vega's husband, Al Horford, was one of the unsung heroes of this clash after he tallied eight points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks, starting for the injured Kristaps Porzingis.
He hit the most pivotal shot of the night with 1:29 left, giving Boston a four-point separation. Horford also added the finishing touches with the final layup of the night to put the game to bed.
The Bucks are probably the closest team with a shot at ending the Celtics' juggernaut in the East. However, considering Boston's dominant record against its rivals, it seems like the defending champions could have another impressive run in the conference playoffs.
