Watch: Anthony Edwards elevates and mesmerizes with monster dunk over Anthony Black

Anthony Edwards showcased his explosive athleticism with a monstrous dunk over Anthony Black during Thursday's Minnesota Timberwolves-Orlando Magic showdown at Kia Center. The guard's mesmerizing dunk will most certainly go down as one of the more iconic posters of the season.

Edwards sized up and dished a pass to Naz Reid, who passed it back to Edwards streaking to the rim. The space was all that the All-Star guard needed as he exploded to the basket and slammed it down with Black hitting the hardwood. To add to the fun, Edwards stared down the Magic while his teammates celebrated the move.

The icing on the cake was a solid 104-89 win that saw them record their third win on the bounce. The T-Wolves now improve to 20-17 and take the seventh seed, one rung below the sixth-placed LA Lakers.

On the game front, Anthony Edwards ended with 21 points, three rebounds, and seven assists. Julius Randle led with a game-high 23 points and helped himself to a double-double in the process with 10 boards.

Anthony Edwards' dunk comes after the guard talks about being double-teamed

For most of the season, opposition teams have tried to use the old-school, tried-and-tested double-teaming as a way to counter Anthony Edwards' relentless scoring. The All-Star guard has been regarded as one of the most prolific scorers in the modern game, and teams have made their plans to subdue the star.

One of the sides managing to do it to perfection was the Boston Celtics who early this month held him to 5 of 16 for 15 points, plus six assists and two turnovers. This saw a frustrated Edwards acknowledge that he was being stifled.

"That's a good brand of basketball, but it's not how I want to play, of course. I'm only 23, and I don't want to just be passing the ball all night. ... But the way that they're guarding me, I think I have to. Them doubling me, definitely it's like, 'Bro, what is going on?' I'm trying to figure it out ... I don't know what to do honestly, but it's not fun. I don't want to look like I'm not trying or not as good as I am, because I am, but I can't show it because I'm getting double-teamed."

Now, it appears that Anthony Edwards who has been asked to shoulder responsibilities on both ends of the floor has relied on a weapon of his choice — athleticism. Only time will tell if his previous approach can help counter the teams looking to cover him.
