Watch: Bronny James confuses his own jumper with Jalen Brunson's in 'Guess the Shot' game
LA Lakers' newest recruit Bronny James confused himself with the New York Knicks star player Jalen Brunson. The NBA TV got a hold of Bronny at the NBA Summer League and played a fun game with him. They asked the 55th overall pick to participate in the 'Guess the Shot' game with them.
The official X handle of NBA TV uploaded the video of the interaction with the Lakers rookie on social media. In the video, the NBA TV staff showed James Jr. a video featuring jump shots of multiple players from the NBA. It required Bronny to guess the players from their silhouettes.
The first silhouette was of the Phoneix Sun star Kevin Durant and the Lakers rookie guessed it almost immediately. Paul George was the next entry and his silhouette had Bronny James confused, though he was sure it wasn't James Harden.
The next entry was Harden and Bronny guessed the right answer. He made the immediate and right assumptions of Anthony Edwards, Victor Wembanyama, and Trae Young as well. However, he was thrown off by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's silhouette and mistook him for Jamal Murray.
The last silhouette was the most confusing for James Jr. as he mistook Knicks star Jalen Brunson for himself. He later clarified that the braided hairstyle and shooting posture of Brunson's silhouette made him think otherwise than the right answer.
Bronny James teases a possible G-League switch in the future
Bronny James is not having a great time in the NBA summer league this year. He has performed poorly in almost every game the Lakers played in the summer league. In his latest game against the Houston Rockets, he had only eight points and collected five rebounds. He went 0 of 8 from the three-point line that had fans trolling him on the internet.
In the post-game interview, James Jr. was asked about his thoughts on playing at the South Bay Lakers in the G-league to hone his skills. The Lakers rookie had a positive response to the question.
"I am just looking forward to any basketball I play – no matter what level I’m playing at," Bronny said (via journalist Dan Woike's X handle).
Bronny James has been an active subject of debate ever since he was drafted in the 2024 NBA Draft. However, he has shown signs of improvement in the summer league and a G-league stint would only improve his skills further.
