Bronny James has long been scouted as an NBA Draft prospect due to a combination of his skills and family name. Many 2024 NBA mock drafts have had the 18-year-old guard projected to be taken in the late first or early second round. However, his projected draft ranking has been slipping recently. NBA Draft Room now has Bronny projected to be drafted No. 48 in 2024.

However, that hasnโ€™t stopped many prominent US colleges from offering Bronny James college scholarships, including Kentucky, Ohio State, Michigan and USC. Bronny has yet to commit to a college, but itโ€™s clear that he has no shortage of options.

Likewise, many NBA teams will likely be keeping their eye on Bronny for the possibility of him being a package deal with his father. That comes as LeBron James has made it well-known that he would like to play with Bronny in the future. However, it remains to be seen if that becomes a reality.

LeBron James may settle for just playing against Bronny James in NBA

As much as LeBron James would like to be able to play in the same team as Bronny, there's no guarantee that it will happen.

Recent reports have suggested that LeBron is happy in LA. Meanwhile, a lot could still happen between now and the 2024 NBA offseason. That may be why LeBron James appears to be tempering expectations about him teaming up with his son Bronny.

In a recent interview with Dave McMenamin of ESPN, LeBron James once again reiterated his desire to play on the same court as his son. However, he said that it may have to be as opponents.

โ€œI need to be on the floor with my boy. I got to be on the floor with Bronny,โ€ James said.

He continued:

โ€œEither in the same uniform or a matchup against him. I donโ€™t mean like (guarding one another all game) โ€” because heโ€™s a point guard and Iโ€™m a, at this point now Iโ€™m playing center or whatever the team needs from me. But I would love to do the whole Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. thing. That would be ideal for sure."
โ€œI need to be on the floor with my boy, I gotta be on the floor with Bronny. That would be the icing on the cake.โ€ ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘‘
