Bobby Portis is now in his fifth season as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, after he joined them ahead of the 2020-21 season.
Portis has become a fan favorite in these five years and has been one of the best roleplayers. He has accepted and thrived in his role off the bench, starting in only 92 of the 296 games he's played with the Bucks.
So far, he has averaged 13.5 points and 8.3 rebounds as the team's sixth man. In 2023 and 2024, he finished third in voting for the league's Sixth Man of the Year award.
Bobby Portis had a solid performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers
As usual, Bobby Portis came off the bench for the Milwaukee Bucks against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.
Portis saw a little over 20 minutes of action and was one of four Bucks players to score in double figures. He shot 5-for-10 (0-for-2 from the 3-point line) for 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
The other three Bucks players to score in double figures were all starters. The team's highest scorer was Damian Lillard. He dropped a game-high 41 points and dished nine assists. He had an efficient shooting night, going 10-for-15 from the 3-point line.
Giannis Antetokounmpo also came up big for the Bucks. The Greek Freak scored 34 points and grabbed a game-high 16 boards. He also finished with nine assists, falling just one dime short of the triple-double.
Taurean Prince was the other Bucks player to score double-figures. He made six of the seven shots he attempted (4-for-5 from downtown) and scored 16 points.
Despite several Bucks players having big games, the Cavaliers beat the Bucks by only one point (114-113).
With this loss, Milwaukee has lost five straight games and is 1-5 this year. Their only win so far came against the Philadelphia 76ers on Oct. 23, the Bucks's season opener.
