Watch: Eminem & Slim Shady mimic iconic LeBron James & Drake 'what did I tell you' scene from The Shop

LeBron James and Drake once went viral with a hilarious moment on The Shop. At one point, LeBron was asked whether Drake texted him and asked if he let him down. In response, James asked Drake if he remembered the advice he shared with him. In response, Drake sheepishly said that LeBron told him that he could never let him down.

The moment became a meme with fans joking that LeBron appears to be Drake's father in the exchange. Now, after the release of his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady, legendary rapper Eminem has used the moment for inspiration.

In a clip posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, Slim Shady (the rapper's younger, troubled alter-ego) can be seen talking to Eminem.

The moment caught the attention of NBA fans, who were quick to notice the obvious callback to LeBron James and Drake's exchange on The Shop several years ago.

Looking at LeBron James and Drake's friendship after LA star was seen rapping along to Kendrick Lamar's diss track

While LeBron James and Drake had a good relationship, many fans speculated that the pair may have had a falling out this summer. Recently, Drake and rap star Kendrick Lamar were involved in a heated beef that saw both rappers take aim at one another.

The beef happened to coincide with the start of the NBA playoffs, which only further amplified the beef as teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves played Not Like Us during warmups.

In addition, the Inside the NBA broadcast also notably used one of Lamar's songs during a broadcast, further connecting the NBA world to the rap beef. Then, after being seen on-camera rapping along to one of Kendrick Lamar's diss tracks, James was in attendance at the rapper's pop-up show in California.

The moment left many fans confident that there was a rift between LeBron James and Drake, however, so far, LeBron has yet to respond with his views. Back in April, he cryptically posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, simply writing:

"Nothing like 2 heavyweights doing What They Do Best! For the love off of the sport"

So far, there's no word yet from James on the latest Eminem-Slim Shady exchange parodying his exchange with Drake on The Shop.
