Watch: Ja Morant hilariously swats daughter Kaari's layup during Nike eventĀ
Ja Morant and his daughter Kaari's relationship is quite adorable. However, that didn't stop the Memphis Grizzlies star from hilariously blocking her layup while playing one-on-one at a public event on Sunday.
It was a launch event for Morant's latest Ja 2 sneakers, hosted by Foot Locker and Nike. The two-day event began in Memphis on Saturday. Morant was part of the event during Sunday's " The Get Up" Basketball Showcase at Snowden School. Several top players from middle and high school were invited to it, where they got the chance to display their skills in multiple pick-up games.
Morant and Kaari were in action, too. However, he blocked her layup attempt as a joke as the two entertained the crowd.

Ja Morant had Kaari with his ex-partner KK Dixon on August 9, 2019, just months before he began his NBA career. She's been a big part of his life as he's grown into adulthood and his journey in the league.
Kaari attends Ja Morant and Grizzlies home opener as All-Star guard shines in win vs Magic
Ja Morant and the Grizzlies tipped off the season at their home arena in style, beating the Orlando Magic 124-111. Morant's daughter, Kaari, was also in attendance for this matchup. The two adorably played together before the game. Here's the video (via Devin Walker on X):
Kaari frequently attends the Grizzlies' games when they are playing at home. She lives in Memphis with her mom, KK Dixon, making it easier for her to catch her dad in action during the NBA season.
Morant ensured he put up a show for Kaari's season debut courtside as he tallied 16 points and 10 assists in just 25 minutes. He shot 4 of 12 and missed six 3-pointers, but was clinical from the free throw line, going 8-of-8.
The Grizzlies improved to 2-1 after suffering a 128-108 blowout loss against Houston on the road in their second game. They have their next three at home before they go on a road trip, so Ja Morant and Co. will look to continue the momentum from Monday's game.
