According to Kicks on SI, the 'Nike Ja 2' is scheduled to launch in the "Induction" colorway on Sept. 26 and is priced at $120 in adult sizes. Due to a suspension and season-ending shoulder surgery, Morant was a notable absentee for the majority of the season for the Grizzlies. However, the mercurial point guard will be back on the court soon and sporting his second signature sneaker this season.

Ja Morant makes bold claim saying Zach Edey will be Rookie of the Year

Earlier, Ja Morant weighed in on his rookie teammate Zach Edey. The former Purdue star was the No. 9 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft and is widely regarded as one of the future stars in the making. Morant echoed a similar sentiment:

"He'll be the Rookie of the Year. And I think he'll do it easily. For him to come and say he wanted to train with me and then go through all the workouts during the week, it was big for him," Morant explained. "I was excited to have him on the team. His skill level is even better than I expected," Morant said.

Morant and Edey trained together for a week this summer in Dallas, and the experience left the Grizzlies' guard impressed. So much so that he has high expectations for the 7-foot-4 center. The Grizzlies are looked at as legitimate playoff contenders this season with health and depth working in their favor.

With Morant and Desmond Bane forming their offense, the defense focus will be on Edey and former DPOY Jaren Jackson Jr. With Ja Morant expected to be in full health, the Grizzlies are looked to be one of the teams being more than just midfield contenders.

Morant and the Grizzlies take on the Utah Jazz in their season opener in an away game at Delta Center on Oct. 23. They play five preseason games before kicking off their campaign.
