Watch: Jayson Tatum shows up in $198,000 custom Maybach for Game 5 of NBA Finals at TD Garden
Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum made his presence known ahead of Game 5 on Monday as he rode a custom Maybach into TD Garden. The Celtics have a 3-1 lead and are looking to close out the series tonight in front of their home crowd.
Tatum is locked in as he arrives in his Mercedes-Maybach S 580, which is priced at $198,300 according to the Mercedes-Benz USA website. Take a look at the video below to see the former Duke star step out of his luxury vehicle.
Tatum has had just one 30-point performance through the first four games of the series. He has scored less than 20 points in the rest of the games. The forward is averaging 20 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game in the Finals.
Tatum has struggled to make shots from the field this series as he's only knocked down 36.5% of his shots. From beyond the arc, he's only made 29%. The Celtics need the forward to be a consistent threat from the field tonight if they want to end the series.

Jayson Tatum's thoughts on winning Finals MVP
Two of the top players on the Finals MVP ladder for the Celtics are Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Given that Brown has played a better series, the forward is at the top of the race ahead of Game 5. Tatum is also fixated on winning the individual award but admitted that it isn't his focus now.
ESPN's Malika Andrews had a chance to talk to Tatum and he expressed his thoughts on possibly winning the Finals MVP.
"It's important, but it's not the main thing," Tatum said. "Isiah Thomas didn't win Finals MVP every time. Tim Duncan didn't win Finals MVP every time. Larry Bird. Steph Curry only has one. Kobe [Bryant] won two out of five championships. As a competitor, you want to win and accomplish everything in front of you, but I would not be the slightest bit sad if I didn't win Finals MVP. I would be ecstatic to just to win the Finals," Tatum said.
Tatum's current goal is to win the Larry O'Brien Trophy. The Celtics came close to winning the title in 2022 but were met with a determined Golden State Warriors squad that won in six games. This time, Boston has another shot to win banner No. 18.
