Watch: Jordan brand releases new 'Don't stop disbelieving' Jayson Tatum commercial after Celtics win 18th title

Jordan Brand wasted no time releasing a commercial hyping Jayson Tatum after the Boston Celtics won their 18th NBA championship. The forward, who inked a $75 million, five-year deal with the brand, led the Celtics to a decisive win with a 31-point double-double in Game 5 at the TD Garden on Monday (June 17).

The 30-second commercial is themed around the scathing criticism he received after failing to win the title despite being regarded as a generational superstar.

The voiceover by Tatum himself starts with how he hears trash-talking about his inability to win, as the visuals see a man clambering up the rooftop and removing the covers of a billboard. The forward then ends his monologue by saying the world will believe in his game now, as the board flashes the new ad that says, "Don't stop disbelieving" with an image of him celebrating.

Jayson Tatum has featured in five Eastern Conference Finals and two NBA Finals. He now has one ring to his name as the Celtics cemented themselves as one of the most clinical units this season.

With teammate Jaylen Brown, the duo put up masterful performances throughout the regular season as they made the Finals. They blew out the Dallas Mavericks 4-1 in five games to win the franchise's 18th title, surpassing the LA Lakers' 17.

Jayson Tatum breaks idol Kobe Bryant's playoff record in Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals

Kobe Bryant is one of Jayson Tatum's icons and it seemed fitting that he was the player to break the 5x NBA champion's playoff record. Tatum had 16 points in the first half, which saw him surpass 2,696 career points in the playoffs — the most by any player aged 26 or younger. The record was held by Bryant with 2,694 in 119 games for the Lakers.

Speaking soon after the win, Tatum was in a daze as he tried to find words.

"We did it. Oh my god, we did it. It's surreal. First of all, god is the greatest. Not because we won, but to put me in positions where we can maximize my god-given ability and be surrounded by these guys and my family. This is an incredible feeling."

Tatum ended his evening with 31 points, eight rebounds, and 11 assists. The win now will see him shed the label of not being able to lead Boston to a title, and only time will tell if Jayson Tatum and the Celtics can defend their title next season.
