Watch: Kevin Durant's first bucket with Phoenix Suns against Charlotte Hornets

It didn't take long for Kevin Durant to score his first bucket as a member of the Phoenix Suns. Durant knocked down a left-handed layup from a Chris Paul assist early in the first quarter against the Charlotte Hornets. Wednesday night was his first game with the team after being sidelined with an MCL injury since early January, when he was still with the Brooklyn Nets.

Kevin Durant's first game with the Suns

Shortly after he scored his first field goal, Durant blocked Mark Williams and knocked down a transition 3-pointer after Devin Booker made a cross-court pass. Coach Monty Williams made the decision to start Durant in his first game with the team. Together with him in the starting five was Josh Okogie, who has been incredible for them as of late.

Durant was impressive during the second half for the Suns. He fit perfectly into Williams' system and looked at ease with his new teammates. The 2014 MVP was able to create his own shots and ended with 23 points, six rebounds and two blocks on 10-15 shooting from the field.

Can the Suns win the title with Kevin Durant?

It's too early to assume anything. But given how Kevin Durant played in his first game back from injury, it looks like the Suns are the biggest threat in the Western Conference. Durant looked at ease in Williams' system, which is a sign that he won't have any problems adjusting his game to Booker's or Paul's.

Right now, the Suns are the favorites to win the title after they acquired the superstar from the Brooklyn Nets. The real test will obviously come in the postseason, where fans can assess how Phoenix will play Durant in a more physical seven-game series.

Additionally, players' health should be heavily considered during this last stretch of games for the season. It'll determine their condition and impact when the playoffs arrive.
