Kevin Durant was fired up after hitting a tough, contested jumper over Luka Doncic on Saturday. Playing in their first home game of the season, the Phoenix Suns secured a thrilling 114-102 statement win over Doncic’s Mavericks, led by Durant’s masterful performance.
In the fourth quarter, the two-time NBA champion was in rhythm, helping the Suns pull away. With 4:24 remaining, Durant found himself one-on-one with Doncic. Showcasing his unmatched offensive skills, Durant rose for a pull-up mid-range jumper.
Despite the 6-foot-7 Mavericks All-Star's strong defense, Durant sank the shot, then had a few words for the Mavericks’ five-time All-Star, taunting him with a "too small" gesture.
Meanwhile, Durant recorded his second consecutive 30-point game as the 14-time NBA All-Star shined in the second game of a back-to-back.
Durant was outstanding against the Mavericks, scoring 31 points on 10 of 21 shooting, including 4 of 8 from beyond the arc. He also contributed nine rebounds, two assists, one steal and a block in 39:22 minutes.
Fans erupt Durant hits Doncic with "too small" gesture
Social media erupted after Kevin Durant taunted Luka Doncic, calling him "too small" following a tough, contested basket over the Mavericks superstar.
"LUKA IS TOO SMALL (not actually that nig*a is fat)," a fan wrote.

Doncic had a standout scoring performance, exploding for 40 points on 12 of 25 shooting, including 5 of 13 from three-point range. The Mavericks superstar also recorded 10 rebounds and four assists.
With the win, the Suns improved to a 2-1 record on the season, while the Mavericks took their first loss, moving to 1-1.
