Watch: Kyrie Irving shares wholesome moment with daughter during Mavericks Media Day

Kyrie Irving shared a wholesome moment with his daughter Azurie on Dallas Mavericks Media Day on Monday. The guard was seen interacting with his daughter between photo and video takes and one of the instances saw him jump on the beanbag next to his daughter and give her heartfelt kisses.

The father-daughter duo could be seen interacting with the media with Azurie carrying a bunch of roses. She handed a few to Irving before the two posed for pictures.

On the season front, Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks will feel that they have enough firepower in the side to make another NBA Finals run — one they will hope translates into a championship after falling short of the mark last season at the hands of the Boston Celtics. They went down 4-1 and will now look for payback as they begin their new season.

The Mavericks will head to the UNLV campus, in Las Vegas to kickstart their training camp. They begin their preseason hosting the Memphis Grizzlies on Oct. 7.

Kyrie Irving talks about Klay Thompson's acquisition: "Dreams can be possible"

Klay Thompson's move to the Dallas Mavericks was one of the major trades this summer, and Kyrie Irving believed that the veteran shooting guard would greatly bolster their chances of winning the championship this season. Per The Athletc's Joe Vardon, the mercurial guard believes the sky is the limit with the four-time NBA champion in their fold.

"I feel like our dreams can be possible because he's here now," Irving said.

Thompson was a key cog in the Golden State Warriors dynasty that won four NBA titles in eight years. He entered the offseason as a free agent following a tumultuous 2023-24 season and chose to link the Mavs, forming a talented trio with Irving and star point guard Luka Doncic.

Irving had a brilliant season himself with the Mavericks. He averaged 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 58 games last season. The postseason run saw him notch up 22.1 ppg, 3.7 rpg and 5.1 apg in 22 games.

Kyrie Irving and Dallas open their 2024-25 regular season on Oct. 22, 7:30 p.m. ET against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs at American Airlines Arena. The new season sees the Mavericks look optimistic about their chances, and only time will tell if Thompson's addition can help Irving and Doncic make another solid run.
