Watch: LeBron James’ return to Cleveland starts with two-handed slam against former team
LeBron James returns to Cleveland with the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Born in Ohio, James was the greatest player in Cleveland's basketball history. With LeBron's presence in their team, the Lakers have been playing well recently.
In case Cleveland fans forgot, LeBron made sure to let them know who he is. No matter the age, LeBron showed that he is going to drop nasty dunks on anyone at any time. That didn't change on Tuesday night as James sunk a two-handed slam to get the game started.
LeBron James and the city of Cleveland
LeBron James loves being back in Cleveland. It makes sense, considering that most remember him as a Cavalier when discussing his career. At the end of the day, LeBron James will go down as a Cavalier because of what he did for the city on and off the court.
When asked about taking on this Cavaliers squad, LeBron had some interesting things to say:
“It’s a well orchestrated team, and they’ve been playing good basketball for the majority of the season so far. It’s always good to go back, we have a lot of history, it’s very close to my hometown [Akron, Ohio], and a lot of my friends and family will be at the game so it’s always good to be able to still play in front of them. They’ve seen me from the first time I ever picked up a basketball until now, so it’s special in its own right.”
The respect between King James and the Cavaliers is mutual as the Cavaliers have praised James for his above-average play, even at his age.
The Lakers have a challenging task at hand as they take on a serious Cleveland team. Despite the Lakers' strong plays, winning in Cleveland won't be easy for them. LeBron James is going to have to be on his A-game if his squad is going to win.
