Watch: LeBron James' wife Savannah James finally sinks a dunk using Bronny in NBA 2K after series of missed shots

The highly anticipated debut of the NBA’s first father-son duo, LeBron James and Bronny James, is fast approaching. The family's matriarch, Savannah James, recently showed her excitement by playing NBA 2K as Bronny.

LeBron shared an Instagram Story of Savannah playing NBA 2K, controlling Bronny as he practiced his shooting in a virtual training facility.

In the video, Savannah missed a few long-range shots but eventually nailed a perfect green-meter 3-pointer and followed it up with a two-handed dunk. LeBron playfully captioned the clip, noting that the only time Savannah picks up the controller is to play as Bronny.

The LA Lakers selected Bronny with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft after his freshman year at USC, setting the stage for the league’s first-ever active father-son duo.

LeBron James expresses joy in getting to work with Bronny

As LeBron James enters his 22nd season, he’s more motivated than ever, thanks to the chance to play alongside his son on the Lakers.

Speaking at the Lakers’ media day on Monday, LeBron shared how Bronny’s presence on the team is a major source of inspiration for him.

“It's a pure joy to be able to come to work every day, put in the hard work, work with your son every day and be able to see him continue to grow,” LeBron James said (per USA Today).
“We push each other, he push me, I push him. We push our teammates and vice versa. So just a very joyous moment for not only for myself, but for our family.’’

Despite his pride in Bronny, LeBron James has made it clear that he doesn’t want his son calling him “dad” during games or practices with the Lakers.

In an episode preview of “The Shop,” filmed in Paris during the Olympics, LeBron revealed that he and Bronny agreed to avoid using family titles on the court.

When asked at media day what he plans to call his dad on the court, Bronny said:

"I haven't gotten there yet. It's probably gonna be, like, Bron. Bron would be the easiest."

The Lakers will play their first preseason game on Oct. 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, followed by their regular-season opener against the same team on Oct. 22.

The Lakers have largely kept their roster intact, only adding rookies Bronny James and Dalton Knecht. However, the biggest changes they underwent this offseason have been in the coaching department, with JJ Redick stepping in as the new head coach following the firing of Darvin Ham.

Redick will be joined by assistants Nate McMillan, Scott Brooks and Lindsey Harding, who earned Coach of the Year honors with the Stockton Kings last season in the NBA G League.
