Luka Doncic has performed well in all the NBA Finals games against the Boston Celtics this season. However, the Mavs are still at a major disadvantage, trailing 3-1 in the series. They secured their first win on Friday, defeating the Celtics 122-84, the third-highest loss margin in Finals history
However, there is still a lot of work to do. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit, but the Mavericks gave their fans a glimmer of hope by forcing a Game 5 against the Celtics.
Luka Doncic believes the Mavericks can create history
Game 4 between the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics was a nightmare for the Celtics fans hoping to see their team lift the Larry O'Brien trophy for the first time since 2008. The Mavericks crushed their opposition at home, finally getting back into Finals mode.
After the game, Luka Doncic expressed great confidence in himself and his squad, believing they could make history by coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the Finals.
"The most important thing is to show that we believe," Doncic said. "I think we showed that in Game 4. If we wouldn't believe, we probably wouldn't have won that game. Obviously, it is easy to talk about it but showing is just another thing. So I think we showed that."
Luka Doncic and the squad will return to TD Garden on Monday, where they will either take steps toward creating history or crumble under the mighty Celtics, who will claim the crown for themselves.
