Watch: Nets coach Jordi Fernandez’s verbal altercation with Magic players after fuming over referee call
Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez got into a heated exchange with the Orlando Magic players when Brooklyn lost 100-92 to Orlando on Sunday night. In the final couple of minutes of the game, coach Fernandez got involved in a verbal altercation.
The Nets head coach was initially furious at the referees for not calling a violation when the Mets' Jalen Wilson took a shot. As the coach nagged at the officials, Magic center Goga Bitadze pointed at the scoreboard, signaling that it's useless to complain knowing that Brooklyn is about to lose. Reacting to the center's actions, Fernandez began arguing with Orlando's players.
Jordi Fernandez then shared how he felt toward the officials on Sunday during the postgame press conference. Fernandez said that there isn't much he can do but try to move past whatever the officials decided on in the game.
He said:
“The game is judged by three people, and then we all have to go with it… There was a lot of frustration from myself and the players... We’re gonna keep fighting whether it’s against five or more.”
