WATCH: New Splash Brother, Buddy Hield swishes "gravity-defying" running one-legged 3-pointer

Buddy Hield is fast becoming a fan favorite with the Golden State Warriors' loyal following. Hield has made an instant impact for the Bay Area team and seems to be thriving in his new role. On Friday, Buddy Hield pulled off an incredible running one-legged 3-pointer that left NBA fans around the globe stunned.

The astonishing 3-ponter took place in the preseason game against the Sacramento Kings at the Chase Center. With just 11 seconds on the shot clock, Hield came off a screen on an inbound pass and was forced to put up a difficult shot as he was running out of space in the corner.

The second-quarter shot sent the crowd into a frenzy and even Hield's teammates on the bench couldn't contain their emotions.

The departure of All-Star Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks this offseason was a major blow for a Warriors organization that relies heavily on 3-point shooting. Thompson, along with Steph Curry, made up the well-known "Splash Brother" duo. Golden State acquired Heild as part of a complex six-team trade to replace Thompson, and the move seems to be working out well.

Partnering Buddy Hield with the legendary Steph Curry will create one of the most lethal 3-point shooting duos in the NBA. Since 2016, no two players have accumulated more 3-pointers in the league.

Steph Curry is regarded as the greatest shooter of all time. The two-time league MVP holds the all-time record for 3-pointers with an incredible 3,747 over 956 games. That is 774 more than the second-place Ray Allen.

Hield has been one of the most consistent shooters from behind the arc since making his debut with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2016. Over his career, he is shooting 40 percent from the 3-point line and has converted 1,924 3-pointers.

Buddy Hield has proven year after year that he remains one of the NBA's elite 3-point shooters. In the 2022/23 campaign, he finished with an impressive 42.5 percent from three. Last season, he shot 38.6 percent from the 3-point line and finished with a whopping 219 3-pointers.

In 2020, Hield won the prestigious 3-point contest at the All-Star Weekend at United Center in Chicago. He defeated a talent group that included Devin Booker and Davis Bertans.
