Watch: Paul George in 76ers practice gear hits the floor to workout with Bucks rookie AJ Johnson

The Philadelphia 76ers signing Paul George to a four-year, $212 million deal was arguably the biggest move of the NBA offseason. Sixers fans were buzzing at the idea of partnering the versatile forward with former NBA MVP Joel Embiid and All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey. George was spotted this week working out at the gym sporting 76ers practice gear as he prepares for the upcoming season.

It is rare to have a nine-time All-Star and former All-NBA First Team player teach you the tricks of the trade but that is exactly what Milwaukee Bucks rookie AJ Johnson experienced. In a video going viral online, Paul George is captured giving the 19-year-old guard some pointers.

George showed Johnson some of the finer points of the game, including when to slow down, accelerate and read defenders. The two were also seen working together on some nifty ball-handling drills.

AJ Johnson was the 23rd overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft, having previously played for the Illawarra Hawks in Australia's National Basketball League. The teenage guard will look to establish himself on a star-studded Bucks roster, and practicing with George can only help him progress as he prepares for the NBA.

Paul George's move to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019 did not turn out the way he had hoped. Aside from the Clippers' Western Conference semifinal appearance in 2019-20 and conference finals in 2020-21, they failed to make it out of the first round in the last two seasons.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been active during the offseason and a move to the "City of Brotherly Love" offers George a chance at his first NBA title.

"I think we got a real legitimate shot. I've always been a fan of Tyrese and Joel from afar... I'm all-in," said George via ESPN.

The upcoming season is an opportunity for both Paul George and the 76ers to win the coveted championship. George has failed to win a ring since joining the league in 2010. The Sixers won their last NBA championship in 1983.
