Watch: PJ Tucker spotted sipping beer as he lets loose at Houston club
PJ Tucker is enjoying a much-needed break from the NBA after a tense 2023-24 season with the LA Clippers. Tucker, who was once the defensive monster for the Houston Rockets, visited his old city again, however, this time, it was for partying.
In a post by '2Cool2Blog' on Instagram, the Clippers' veteran player was seen at a club in Houston. Tucker was seen partying in printed co-ord shorts and a half-sleeve shirt while he danced to the beats. He was also seen drinking beer from the bottle.
It seems like the 2021 NBA champion likes to drink directly from the bottle. Earlier, when he won his first title with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021, he had made the headline for heavily drinking wine and beer, that too directly from the bottle.
PJ Tucker was one of the most important pieces on the Houston Rockets team during the James Harden era. Since getting traded in 2021, he won a title but has found it difficult to find a regular rotation on the team.
However, he has been instrumental in providing veteran guidance to young players around him.
PJ Tucker exercises his player option with the Clippers despite tense 2023-24 season
After last season, there were questions over PJ Tucker’s future with the LA Clippers. He had a player option with the team for next season. Considering he has already demanded a trade from the Clippers, he was expected to join another contending team.
However, Tucker chose to exercise his player option and stay with the Clippers. He had the $11.5 million player option for the next season. At 39 years of age, the 2021 NBA champion would not have gotten as much money if he had chosen to become a free agent.
Last season, Tucker was traded to the Clippers from the Philadelphia 76ers in the James Harden trade. The 39-year-old fell out of Tyronn Lue’s rotation which created tension between him and the team. The matter got worse with time as he told Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN in February that he was trying to get traded.
Once a defensive star in the league, Tucker was fined a total of $75,000 by the league for going public with the comments. Later that same month, he was sent home, away from the team, before returning to them later.
PJ Tucker played a total of 28 games for the Clippers last season. He averaged 1.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.6 assists across those games. Tucker also shot 36.7% from the three-point line.
