WATCH: Russell Westbrook commits brash foul on Luka Doncic before punching P.J. Washington in the chest

Russell Westbrook got ejected after a heated altercation broke out between him, Luka Doncic and P.J. Washington. Westbrook initiated the melee after committing a brash foul on Doncic, grappling and throwing the Mavericks star around in transition. Doncic retaliated after charging at Westbrook before the latter shoved him.

P.J. Washington, who had an altercation with Westbrook in Game 1, got into the act, shoving the Clippers veteran guard. Westbrook didn't take too long to respond, throwing a jab at the Mavericks forward. Both players got a technical foul and were ejected, as Westbrook had issued a flagrant foul before, while Washington got a double tech.

Westbrook had been physical with the Mavericks players, especially Doncic the whole night. He endured a frustrating game after scoring only one point, which came on a free throw attempt. Westbrook missed all of his seven shot attempts, including four from deep.

It was the first time since 2005 that a player was issued a flagrant and two techs with less than a point in the same game. Kenrick Perkins was the last to endure a night like this.

Meanwhile, P.J. Washington finished his night with 10 points, five rebounds and three steals on 5 of 10 shooting, producing another vital two-way performance.

NBA fans agree with Russell Westbrook's ejection

Russell Westbrook's ejection didn't face many objections among NBA fans. There wasn't any evidence against Westbrook not committing a non-basketball play. The reaction that followed also seemed unwarranted by many.

@HamMuse went and called for a suspension for the Clippers guard, saying:

"Westbrick should be Suspended like if you agree"

"Russ wilding"

@7RSoto4 called out Westbrook for his ego and pride, saying:

"I like how westbrook shoved Luka then Washington barely pushing westbrook and he reacts like that that's way to much ego and pride right ther"

More reactions followed where fans mocked Russell Westbrook:

Russell Westbrook and the Clippers endured a 101-90 loss. It was the consensus, especially in the second half, as Dallas went up 21. The Clippers now trail the series 2-1 with one more game on the road. They have been outclassed so far by the Mavericks' physical defense and intensity, with the young supporting cast around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

Westbrook wasn't the only player struggling for the Clippers as co-stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George also finished the game, scoring in single digits. The former had nine points, while the latter had seven. Leonard attempted only seven shots, while George went 3 of 11.

James Harden and Norman Powell's 20-point outings and Ivica Zubac's 19 points were the only performances keeping the Clippers in the contest.
