Watch: Russell Westbrook hits ridiculous half-court buzzer-beater to keep his resurgence going as LA Lakers power past Portland Trail Blazers

Russell Westbrook was partying in LA last night (November 30) as the Lakers beat the Portland Trail Blazers 128-109.

The reason behind Russ' groovy mood was thanks to his half-court buzzer beater to end the third quarter. The Lakers had a 12-point lead, leading 94-82 in the final seconds of the third. Westbrook then added three more points to end the quarter, and fans went crazy.

After Westbrook hit the half-court shot to beat the buzzer, "Brodie" started dancing and partied with his hometown crowd. No one can blame him, as that was his second buzzer-beater of the game. Westbrook first hit a buzzer-beater to end the second quarter. That shot allowed the Lakers to gain a four-point lead before half-time.

Russell Westbrook: The Star Bench Player

Los Angeles Lakers vs Minnesota Timberwolves

LA Lakers fans' confidence in Russell Westbrook seems to have returned. Since opting to come off the bench, Westbrook has thrived. As a result, LA fans have been quite supportive of the point guard, especially when he checks into games. Fans have been anticipating the return of the explosive point guard for a very long time.

This season, it seems as though Westbrook is experiencing a comeback in Los Angeles. Once he was persuaded to sit on the bench by coach Darvin Ham, his performances have improved. Westbrook initially didn't like the idea of playing a supporting role. However, things are now starting to pay off for the point guard.

He may no longer be the star of the show, but Westbrook is undoubtedly putting up decent numbers. In the Lakers' win last night, "Brodie" averaged 15 points, 7.2 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game. Whenever he checks in games, Westbrook has the ability to restore balance. He becomes the primary ball handler and efficiently finds openings for his teammates.

He's still struggling when it comes to attacking the basket, as he tends to add a little too much force to his layups. However, it's clear that he has learned his lesson and is now taking more efficient shots rather than forcing a shot. Even LeBron James, who is typically the primary ball handler, allows Westbrook to play his natural game.

For that reason, there's no doubt the Lakers have shown their faith in Russell Westbrook once again. Their team chemistry is starting to look more decent as the season wears on. There are rumors that Westbrook might still be traded somewhere down the road. Hopefully, that may not be the case anymore, as it seems like things are starting to look great for the Lakers with Russell Westbrook in the squad.
