Watch: Scotty Pippen Jr.'s mother Larsa Pippen in attendance to watch Grizzlies vs Heat Summer League Final

Larsa Pippen has been hyping up her son Scotty Pippen Jr.’s career in the NBA even when he struggled to earn minutes. The son of Chicago Bulls icon Scottie Pippen played only six games for the LA Lakers in his rookie campaign. Despite the lack of action on the court, the reality TV star has remained positive about her son’s future in the league.

In January this year, the former undrafted rookie out of Vanderbilt agreed to a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies. The injuries that ravaged the team prompted Grizzlies executives to look for reinforcements. Pippen made the most out of that opportunity.

This month, Scotty Pippen Jr. continued to show his improvements by leading the Grizzlies to the Las Vegas Summer League finals. They faced the Miami Heat in the championship round at the Thomas & Mack Center. Larsa Pippen, unsurprisingly, attended the said title game.

The social media influencer had to be happy with how her son performed. Pippen filled up the stat sheet, finishing the game with 29 points, 11 assists, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks. He was arguably the best player in the game despite the Grizzlies’ 120-118 loss.

Scotty Pippen Jr. could have prevented the game from going into overtime. He missed a free throw with 1:11 remaining that would have given them a 111-110 lead. Miami’s Cole Swider hit a 3-pointer before Pippen’s teammate GG Jackson II responded with a triple.

The stage was set for Pippen to win the game with four seconds left. He missed a 26-foot attempt that would have given the Memphis Grizzlies the championship. Despite the loss, Larsa Pippen likely beamed with pride watching her son.

Larsa Pippen supported Scotty Pippen Jr. throughout the Summer League games in Las Vegas

Monday was only the second Summer League game that Larsa Pippen attended. Although she wasn’t always in the arena, she was a loud voice in Scotty Pippen Jr.’s corner on social media. The reality TV star never fails to give her son a shout-out every time he has a good game.

Following Pippen’s triple-double against the LA Clippers a few nights ago, she shared a story on her Instagram highlights of his performance. Marcus Jordan’s former girlfriend also backed up his son’s goal of becoming the best defender in the NBA. She also showed another IG story and captioned Pippen’s interview with “Facts.”

Scotty Pippen Jr. will likely earn a spot on the Memphis Grizzlies roster following his Las Vegas campaign. Grizzlies fans can expect Larsa Pippen to keep up her social media push to give her son recognition.
