Watch: Seemingly drunk Nikola Jokic struggles to balance himself on Olympic medal podiumĀ

Nikola Jokic and Serbia claimed the bronze medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics men's basketball event following Saturday's 93-83 win over Germany. Jokic and his teammates had almost an eight-hour window to celebrate their podium finish and seemed to make the most of it.

Jokic was seemingly drunk after erupting in wild celebrations with the rest of the squad throughout the day before they joined the USA and France on the podium around midnight. Losing his balance on the podium, the Denver Nuggets superstar produced a comical moment.

It was Jokic's second Olympic medal with Serbia. He won the silver medal after losing to the USA in the 2016 Rio Olympics final.

The Serbians had a difficult path to a podium finish after drawing the USA in the group stage, Australia in the quarterfinals and the reigning FIBA world champions, Germany, in the bronze medal clash.

However, Nikola Jokic's MVP-caliber display saw the Serbians through. He averaged 18.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game across six appearances, shooting 53.8%.

Nikola Jokic misses MVP to LeBron James despite record-breaking Olympics run

Nikola Jokic was among the stars in the running to land his maiden Olympics MVP. Jokic led the tournament in points, rebounds and assists, becoming the first player to lead the three major statistical categories in a single run. However, he eventually lost the award to Team USA superstar LeBron James.

James spearheaded the Americans to a gold medal, leading his team in rebounds and assists. He averaged 14.2 ppg, 6.8 rpg and 8.5 apg. It seems like the voters ultimately chose James over Jokic because of team success, as individually, there was no one better than the reigning three-time NBA MVP in the tournament.

Jokic nearly led Serbia to the gold medal game. He was the architect of its quarterfinal win over Australia, a game in which his team trailed by 24 points. He also helped them come close to pulling off a massive upset against Team USA. Serbia was up 17 points in the semifinals, but succumbed in the fourth quarter.

Nevertheless, Nikola Jokic made the Olympics All-Star five lineup alongside Steph Curry, Dennis Schroder, LeBron James and Victor Wembanyama. Serbia finished the Olympics with a 3-2 record. It lost its opener and semifinals to the USA.
