If there were an award for the most eventful offseason, it would likely go to Klay Thompson. The four-time champion not only left the Golden State Warriors for the Dallas Mavericks but also engaged in various activities, including an impromptu beach hangout with a random family.
TikTok user @imebooo shared that her family encountered Klay Thompson in Malibu, where he casually joined them, playing beach ball with the kids and even accepting a beer from them. She captioned the post:

Thompson has been involved in numerous activities this offseason, including boating with Quentin Grimes and hosting basketball camps in Cameroon with former Warriors teammate Festus Ezeli.
He’s also been immersing himself in local dances and visiting beaches and tourist attractions in Cameroon.
Aside from these spontaneous adventures, his most significant move this offseason was joining the Mavericks. The five-time All-Star and four-time NBA champion departed the Warriors after 11 seasons, during which he averaged 19.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
How the Mavericks made history by acquiring Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson’s move to the Mavericks via a sign-and-trade made history as the NBA's first-ever six-team transaction. The deal expanded to include four Western Conference teams and two Eastern Conference teams.
The main components of the trade saw the Mavericks acquire Thompson and a 2025 second-round pick, while the Warriors received Kyle Anderson and Buddy Hield.
The Minnesota Timberwolves received a 2025 second-round pick, 2031 second-round pick swaps and cash considerations, while the Nuggets received cash considerations.
In the Eastern Conference, the Charlotte Hornets received Josh Green, Reggie Jackson, a 2029 second-round pick and a 2030 second-round pick. The Philadelphia 76ers received a 2031 second-round pick and later acquired Jackson outside of the trade.
Thompson brings his 41.3% career 3-point shooting to the Mavericks, although his 38.7% 3-point percentage in the 2023-24 season was the second-lowest of his career.
