Watch: Steph Curry, A'ja Wilson, and 3x Olympian fencer Lee Kiefer share wholesome moment on Team USA boat

USA Basketball stars Steph Curry and A'ja Wilson had the opportunity to mingle with fellow United States Olympians ahead of the elaborate opening ceremonies of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games on Friday. Among those they had a brief light moment with was three-time Olympian fencer Lee Kiefer.

The three briefly talked on Team USA's boat as they awaited their turn for the parade of nations on the Seine River in the French capital.

Lee, a gold medal winner in the last Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, in 2021, posted a video of her encounter with Curry and Wilson, where she can be seen initiating the conversation.

She first greeted the two basketball stars, who were below deck, and acknowledged her back. Steph Curry then asked for her name, which Lee gladly obliged to, and said she was from fencing. Their conversation ended with all three exchanging pins as mementos and Lee telling the basketball stars to enjoy the Olympics.

Check out their exchange below:

Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors is playing in his first Olympic Games. He is joining forces with LeBron James and Kevin Durant, along with nine other NBA stars, in trying to claim a fifth straight Olympic gold medal for the U.S.

Wilson, for her part, was an Olympic gold medallist with the women's squad in Tokyo last time around. In Paris, she is joined by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi and Kelsey Plum, among others.

Steph Curry and Team USA begin Olympic campaign against Serbia

Steph Curry and Team USA plunge into Olympic action on July 28 in a Group C match against Serbia at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille. It will be the first in what they hope to be another golden run for them in the Olympic Games.

The two nations played a tune-up game in Abu Dhabi on July 17 ahead of their clash in the Paris Games, with the U.S. squad running away with a 105-79 victory. First-time Olympian Curry led the way in the victory, top-scoring for the U.S. with 24 points.

In the five pre-Olympic matches that Team USA played, Steph Curry averaged 12.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 22 minutes of play.

Apart from Serbia, which has reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic in its fold, Team USA will also play South Sudan and Puerto Rico in Group C.

In the Olympics, the tournament format has the top two teams in the three groupings automatically advancing to the quarterfinals. In addition, the two best third-place teams will also progress, with the other teams eliminated from the competition.

A random draw will determine the matchups in the quarterfinals, with the two highest-ranked teams placed on opposite sides of the bracket. A standard single-elimination format then follows.

Steph Curry is joined in Team USA by LeBron James and Anthony Davis (LA Lakers), Kevin Durant and Devin Booker (Phoenix), Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White (Boston), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota), Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana) and Bam Adebayo (Miami).
