D'Angelo Russell says he learned a lot from Steph Curry while with the Warriors
D'Angelo Russell's stay with the Golden State Warriors lasted for only 33 games but he said he learned so many things while playing with Steph Curry which he has used to further develop his game.
The former No. 2 overall pick (2015) spoke about his time with Curry and the Warriors in the 2019-2020 season, highlighting while it was challenging playing alongside a player like Curry, it was also a great opportunity to learn from one of the best to ever did it (via USA Today):
"I'm doing a lot of spectating. I'm just seeing what I can learn from him from a distance. Then, I come up with the correct questions and the correct demeanor on what I'm trying to learn versus nagging him about stuff.
"He [Curry] plays at his own pace and is willing to learn. He's hungry to make that next step in his career," he added.
In the 33 games he played for the Warriors, Russell averaged 23.6 points, 6.2 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 32 minutes. He, however, was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves midway along with Jacob Evans, Omari Spellman and future picks for Andrew Wiggins.
