Watch: Steph Curry draws a play with Kenny Atkinson, incites hilarious remarks from commentators

Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry was seen putting his veteran experience to work on Monday night. After calling a timeout, Steph could be seen drawing up a play of his own and running it through Warriors assistant coach Kenny Atkinson.

The Golden State Warriors have been praised time and time again for being one of the most well-run franchises in the NBA. All the way from the top brass to the coaching staff, the Warriors have functioned like a well-oiled machine.

The essence behind their success as a franchise has always been in trusting the process and the autonomy they give to their staff and players. With one of the best developmental teams in the league, Golden State has truly excelled at building a cohesive unit in this regard.

This aspect of their functioning was put on display against the Phoenix Suns. The Warriors' offense is a function of head coach Steve Kerr's basketball philosophy. Considering the emphasis that is placed on moving without the ball and making the extra pass, it isn't an easy system to get used to.

However, it is within this system that Kerr has also given players enough space to express themselves. This has routinely been seen as Kerr has handed the reins over to Draymond Green and Steph Curry on more occasions than one.

An example of this was seen during a timeout recently when Curry drew up a play of his own. While talking to assistant coach Kenny Atkinson, Curry could be seen drawing and elaborating on movements on the court with the whiteboard in his hand.

The commentators also shared a hilarious remark while discussing Curry's demonstration with Atkinson. Highlighting the passion with which Curry was expressing himself, the commentators alluded to the role reversal on display.

Although Curry may not have had the chance to run the play, he still played a valuable role on the court.

Steph Curry's return finally result in wins for Golden State

Steph Curry being away from the Golden State Warriors has been a more common sight than expected this season. Having dealt with shoulder and ankle injuries, Curry has missed a fair few games.

Curry's return following the All-Star break against the LA Lakers was met with a lot of hype. Unfortunately, the result was less than satisfying. The subsequent outings on the road only added to the misery as the Warriors stacked up losses.

But the return to Oracle Arena has been a lot more assuring in this manner. With two consecutive wins, Steph Curry appears to be getting back into the groove of things. But more importantly, it seems like the Warriors have regained some of their mojo.
