Watch: Steph Curry and Klay Thompson go head to head in a paper airplane contest
Steph Curry and Klay Thompson goofed off during the post-game press conference after a matchup against the Phoenix Suns. The Golden State Warriors beat the Suns 123-112. The "Splash Brothers" took care of business at home as they led the Warriors to an impressive victory.
Klay Thompson was the star of the show by adding 38 points and 5 rebounds while drilling 57.1% of his 3-point shots. Steph Curry put up 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. After a hard-fought victory, the "Splash Brothers" decided to unwind a bit during their post-game press conference. Curry and Thompson played a game to see who could throw a paper airplane the farthest.
This wouldn't be the first time the two shooters had a friendly competition with each other. Throughout their careers as teammates, both Klay and Steph have always brought the best out of each one by attempting to outperform the other in-game.
The time when Steph Curry and Klay Thompson competed against each other at the 3-point Contest
Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are no strangers when it comes to competing against each other, especially on the big stage. Back in 2015 and 2016, the "Splash Brothers" went neck-and-neck with each to battle for 3-point supremacy during the NBA All-Star Weekend 3-point Contest. Both stars are tied at one win apiece when facing each other in the contest.
Curry became the reigning 3-point contest champion in 2015. Initially, it appeared like Thompson was going to win the contest since he scored higher than his teammate in the first round. Klay had 24 points while Steph had 23 points. However, in a contest like this, winning the final round is what matters. While Curry came out on top with 27 points while Thompson only had 14 points.
The following year, Klay came back with a vengeance and defeated his splash brother in the 2016 NBA 3-point contest. It was once again a neck-and-neck battle, but this time from start to finish. In the first round, Curry came up with 21 points and Thompson with 22 points. Then, in the final round, KT came out on top with 27 points versus Steph's 23 points.
