Watch: 'Surprised' Jaylen Brown mobbed by teammates after earning Eastern Conference finals MVP trophy over Jayson TatumĀ 

Jaylen Brown's efforts in the Eastern Conference finals saw him win the MVP and that had the F/G surprised. The Boston Celtics notched up a 105-102 win over the Indiana Pacers in Game 4 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday, and Brown had a solid outing again with 29 points, six rebounds and two assists.

He was instrumental in Boston's last four wins and that had him holding the MVP trophy at the end of the series sweep.

His reactions said it all when Brown had a look of disbelief on his face when was announced MVP of the ECF over teammate Jayson Tatum.

His two-word reaction didn't go unnoticed on social media as his teammates mobbed him out of pure joy:

Brown came in with massive expectations this season after he inked a $300 million deal with Boston last summer. Safe to say, the guard has not disappointed since, as the Celtics now head to the NBA Finals for the second time in three seasons.


Jaylen Brown was a force against Pacers in Eastern Conference finals

Jaylen Brown was one of the reasons behind the Boston Celtics heading back to the NBA Finals and giving the decorated franchise a shot at bagging their 18th banner in the process. His teammate Jayson Tatum won the inaugural East finals MVP award in 2022 and this time it was Brown's turn, as the pair continued to dominate the league as one of the best one-two punch combos.

Brown was the hero in Game 1 versus Indiana, sending the contest into overtime with a clutch 3-point shot from the corner. In Game 2, he tied a postseason career-best with a mammoth 40-point masterclass, delivering another Celtics win. On the defensive end, he was equally effective as he used his frame and pace to be pesky against the Pacers on the perimeter.

The MVP award to Brown did raise some eyebrows on social media as Tatum had the better numbers. In the four games, Brown averaged 29.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists, while Tatum had 30.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists. The voting however still was in favor of Brown as he won five of the nine votes. Tatum won the other four.

Brown propped up impressive stats throughout the season. Ahead of the ECF matchup, he averaged 25.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists. In the regular season, he averaged 23.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists to be the perfect partner alongside Tatum.
