Watch: Video of Dwight Howard grabbing his teammate's crotch surfaces amid allegations of sexual assault

The last time NBA fans saw Dwight Howard in the league was when he played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2021-22 regular season. After his time in the NBA, he played in one season with the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan, where he received $1 million for his contract.

However, things have not gone so well for the 18-year NBA veteran after being accused of sexual assault and battery allegations earlier this year. As Howard faces serious charges set on him, a video of him grabbing the crotch of one of his teammates has surfaced.

The video was originally uploaded on X by @NevaMiss24, where the video looks to be of Dwight Howard back in his time playing for the Houston Rockets.

From the video, Howard can be seen heading to the bench after being interviewed, and just when he was about to take his seat, he grabbed Isaiah Canaan's crotch area.

The accusations were filed by Stephen Harper following the incident that transpired back in July 2021 at Howard's residence located in Georgia.

Dwight Howard denies sexual assault and battery allegations

In response to the sexual assault and battery allegations, Dwight Howard denied all the accusations by stating that the encounter with Stephen Harper was "consensual sexual activity," as per ESPN's Baxter Holmes.

Additionally, one of Howard's attorneys, Justin Bailey, talked about Howard's stance on the case when interviewed by ESPN.

"What was a private consensual encounter was made public for profit and Mr. Howard looks forward to bringing the truth to light in a court of law," Bailey said. "The allegations against Mr. Howard are contested. Mr. Howard intends to present the truth."
The truth is Mr. Howard blocked Mr. Harper on social media," Bailey added, "and then was confronted with two options -- pay to protect his reputation or have a fabricated story made public. Despite being an easy target due to the subject matter and his status as a celebrity, Mr. Howard chose to trust in the justice system."

It is yet to be seen how the case will turn out for Dwight Howard, especially considering the severity of the charges filed against him.

Besides his last season in the NBA, Dwight Howard previously expressed his interest in joining the league once again after his brief time playing in Taiwan. Howard reportedly was not pleased with the lowered amount of the new contract offered, resulting in disagreement between the two parties.
