Team USA might have assembled a star-studded lineup for their triumphant 2024 Paris Olympics campaign, but it was Devin Booker who emerged as the unsung hero, stepping up as a crucial role player for the team.
Devin Booker released a 15-minute short documentary detailing his and Team USA’s Olympic journey, which included a moment where Steph Curry playfully poked fun at Kyle Kuzma. Before the Olympics, Kuzma had tweeted that Team USA should recruit stars who excel in specific roles.
Booker replied to Kuzma’s tweet with a message that became the title of his documentary:
“I’ll do it.”
In the documentary, as Team USA players praised Booker, Curry asked:
“What Kuz say? What Kuz say?”
The entire locker room echoed back:
“I’ll do it.”

Booker delivered a consistently strong performance throughout the Olympics, averaging 11.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists as a starter. He posted shooting splits of 57% from the field, 57% from 3-point range and 78% from the free-throw line.
Although Booker did not make the Olympics All-Star Five—where only LeBron James and Curry were selected from Team USA—he received commendations from various figures, including Team USA coach Steve Kerr and his teammates.
What Team USA personalities said about Devin Booker’s Olympics performance
Devin Booker’s 2023-24 season ended on a sour note with a first-round sweep by Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, even Edwards acknowledged Booker’s significant impact on Team USA.
At Fanatics Fest, Edwards expressed his admiration for Booker’s defensive performance:
“Steph had great games, KD had great games, LeBron had great games, but Book was guarding the best player, turning down shots, ‘cause Book could go for 70. Not gonna lie, I was impressed watching him.”
Meanwhile, Steve Kerr hailed Booker as Team USA’s unsung hero:
"Devin Booker is an incredible basketball player. Nobody asked about him. He was our unsung MVP. I just wanted to say that."
In the gold medal game against France, Devin Booker scored 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting, grabbed six rebounds and provided three assists without committing a turnover.
With the Olympics behind him, Devin Booker will now shift his focus back to the NBA, bringing his recent Olympic experience alongside Kevin Durant.
The Suns, who have their sights set on a championship, have bolstered their roster by adding Monte Morris, Mason Plumlee, Tyus Jones, TyTy Washington Jr., EJ Liddell and Collin Gillespie. They aim to rebound from their disappointing first-round exit last season.
