"We got KAT, wow?" "Who is Karl?"- Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart give hilarious reactions to Karl-Anthony Towns related questions
The New York Knicks reportedly acquired Karl-Anthony Towns on Friday but Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart seem to be clueless about it. The Knicks will send Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and a first-round draft pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange.
As expected, this massive shakeup to the Knicks roster became a topic of discussion during the Knicks media day. Both Brunson and Hart were asked about their new teammate and their responses made it seem like they had no idea that this happened.
"Whose Karl?" asked Brunson. "Don't know who that is."
Meanwhile, when Hart was asked about the reports that Karl-Anthony Towns was going to be a member of the Knicks, he was surprised.
"We got KAT?" Hart asked. "Wow, that's crazy."
Karl-Anthony Towns will be donning a different jersey for the first time in his career when he suits up for the Knicks.
The Timberwolves chose him first overall in 2015, and he has spent the first nine seasons of his career with them. He won Rookie of the Year and has been named to four All-Star teams.
Last season, KAT reached the conference finals for the first time under Chris Finch alongside Rudy Gobert and Anthony Edwards.

Karl-Anthony Towns and head coach Tom Thibodeau will be reunited
The Minnesota Timberwolves brought in defensive-minded Tom Thibodeau as their head coach in 2016-17. At the time, Karl-Anthony Towns was just entering his second year in the NBA.
KAT was a vital part of coach Thibs' gameplan, playing in all 82 games in both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. In Thibs' first year as the head coach, KAT increased his averages to 25.1 points and 12.3 rebounds after averaging 18.3 and 10.5 in his rookie year.
In 2017-18, KAT's scoring numbers dipped slightly. He averaged 21.3 points while maintaining the same rebounding average. That season, he also made his first All-Star team as well as the All-NBA third team.
That same year was the first time that KAT got a taste of playoff action and was the first time that the Wolves made the postseason since 2004. However, their playoff run was cut short after being eliminated by the Houston Rockets in the first round.
Thibs started the 2018-19 season as the Wolves head coach but he was released by the team after beginning with a 19-21 record.
With this trade, Karl-Anthony Towns and Tom Thibodeau will reunite with the New York Knicks.
