"We're the problem" - Kevin Hart hilariously explains smaller guards dominating NBA
Actor and comedian Kevin Hart is a huge fan of the NBA and even participated in several All-Star Celebrity Games. Hart was recently asked about his opinion about smaller guards possibly dominating the league. He almost took offense due to the word "small" but explained why stars like Jalen Brunson are a problem.
In an interview with Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks, Hart discussed several topics about what's going on in his life such as his collaboration with Kai Cenat and Druski, the Tom Brady roast, Bronny James and more.
One of the questions asked by Rooks is what Hart's take is about smaller guards not being capable of winning a championship. The Philadelphia 76ers fan explained that Jalen Brunson is unguardable, while also pointing out Steph Curry's success.
"Why do you think Jalen Brunson has been able to have the success that he's had? ... The smaller guard is unguardable. The whole conversation is always about the defense. We're never talking about the offense. A smaller guard keeps a bigger guard on his heels, a smaller guard keeps a defense on their heels. You do what you want, when you want. We are the problem, they have to find the answer," Hart said. [22:25 onward]
Kevin Hart is excited to have a "smaller guard" on his team, the Philadelphia 76ers. Hart loved what Tyrese Maxey has been doing in Philly in the past two seasons and was happy to see him sign a contract extension.
"The Borderlands" actor is also excited about the arrival of Paul George, who signed a contract with the Sixers in free agency. He was even involved in the pitch for George to come to Philadelphia.
"Just texting PG a bunch of like Kevin Hart-type sh*t. 'Man, it would be cool. This would be great. My cheese steaks are amazing. It's the city of Brotherly Love.' Stupid sh*t like that," Hart said.
Kevin Hart might be the greatest All-Star Celebrity player ever
There was a time when Kevin Hart was nearly impossible to stop, not just in movies, but also in the basketball court. Hart was a regular in the NBA Celebrity All-Star Games in the mid-2010s. He was the "king" and won four consecutive Celebrity Game MVP awards.
Hart owns the record for most Celebrity All-Star Game MVP awards in NBA history. He's one of two multi-time winners alongside NFL legend and Hall of Famer Terrell Owens, who won back-to-back in 2008 and 2009.
"I'm one of the few athletes that are a celebrity that's actually played the game at a high level. I played play varsity basketball for four years. I'm already going in with a slight advantage, somewhat edge over my opponents. ... When you talk about who acted as somebody that I felt that I had a rival with, nobody ever stepped up to the plate and gave me a challenge. I think this is why they incorporated actual NBA guys to play with the celebrities because I was running all over the celebrities," Hart claimed. [17:53 onward in the video above]
