What did Bradley Beal do? Police investigation ensues over postgame battery incident
Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards is under police investigation following a postgame incident with fans last week. Beal reportedly confronted hecklers during the Wizards' 122-112 loss to the Orlando Magic on March 21.
According to TMZ Sports, a complaint against Beal was filed on March 22 less than 24 hours after he went back-and-forth with a couple of fans. The Orlando Police Department is investigating whether Beal committed battery.
The report noted that one of the fans screamed at Beal as he was leaving the court through the tunnel. The fan allegedly said, "You f**ked me (out of) $1,300, you f**k." It meant that the fan was unhappy that he lost a bet on the game because of Beal.
Bradley Beal didn't appreciate what the fans were saying to him so he walked toward them. Beal allegedly knocked the hat off one of the fans before a back-and-forth exchange of words lasted for around 50 seconds. He felt that the fans were being disrespectful toward him.
"Keep it a buck," Beal said. "I don't give a f**k about none of your bets or your parlays, bro. That ain't why I play the game."
Team officials eventually stepped in to break up the verbal confrontation. Beal was escorted back to the locker room to prevent further incident. It should be noted that the Wizards star is just under investigation and has not been charged with a crime.
Beal has also been a role model for athletes. He's never been in trouble with the law, except for a 2018 citation due to the tint of his car windows being too dark. He detailed the encounter in an interview with Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today in 2020.
"I can arrest your (expletive) right now and (expletive) up your headline and have you on SportsCenter on Monday," Beal recalled. "For what, you know? Because I had too dark of a tint. That's a ticket and let me go."

Bradley Beal has not played a game since loss to Magic last week
Bradley Beal did not have his best game in the Washington Wizards' loss to the Orlando Magic last week. Beal shot just 4 for 15 from the field to finish with 16 points, five rebounds and seven assists. He has also not played a game since that defeat due to a sore left knee.
Beal will miss his fourth straight game on Tuesday against the Boston Celtics. He's been ruled out of the game in the Wizards' latest injury report. It has been a down season for Beal, averaging just 23.2 ppg, 3.9 rpg and 5.4 apg. He's also played in just 50 games this season due to various minor injuries.
