What happened to Dennis Schroder? Latest injury update for Warriors guard after brutal fall (Jan. 28)

The Steph Curry-less Golden State Warriors can't catch a break with injuries. With Curry, Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga already out, Dennis Schroder joined the group on Tuesday after a brutal fall during the Warriors-Jazz game. Schoder fell hard on a drive attempt and had to be carried off by the team's staff to the locker room.

Schroder suffered the injury with 8:41 left in the third quarter. He landed hard on his left ankle and potentially rolled it, causing his injury. It took him a while to get back up before he was helped off. Schroder returned to the bench with his left ankle wrapped up with a giant ice pack. However, it was unclear if he would return.

Schroder scored 15 points, four rebounds and three assists before his exit. He shot 5 of 11, including 3 of 8 from 3 in his return to the starting lineup after Steph Curry was a late scratch with his knees bothering him, per Steve Kerr.

The Warriors were up 72-60 when Schroder went out. He was the team's highest scorer until that point.

Dennis Schroder surprises everyone by returning to action after brutal fall, drops Warriors' career-high

Dennis Schroder left everyone surprised after he returned to Tuesday's clash against the Utah Jazz despite a hard fall that forced him to head to the locker room. Schroder couldn't put any pressure on his left ankle and was carried off, but he still returned to play.

He doubled down on his heroic effort and dropped a season-high 26 points for the Warriors, his best performance in a Golden State jersey. Schroder added five rebounds, four assists and three steals, shooting 8 of 20, including five 3s. The Warriors won 114-103.

It was a huge outing for him as the Jazz weren't going away easily. With Steph Curry out, the Warriors needed that effort from Schroder, who hasn't played as expected after getting traded from Brooklyn, where he played on another level. Prior to this game, Schroder scored 20 just once and over 15 points just thrice in 20 games for Golden State.
