Jordan Poole is one of the players who received a contract extension from the Golden State Warriors during the offseason.

Poole was in the last year of his four-year rookie contract worth $10.09 million and expected to make $3.90 million this season before entering his next contract with the Warriors. He now has something to look forward to considering how big his new contract amount is.

In October, Poole agreed a four-year extension worth $128 million with Golden State. According to sources, his total salary could reach up to $140 million depending on incentives. In other words, he's going to make an average of $32 million per year.

Jordan Poole has had a lot of ups and downs this NBA season. He received a lot of backlash from fans when he signed a big four-year deal only to play inconsistently for the team. Poole didn't start the season the way he wanted to, putting up mediocre performances.

In October, he only averaged 17.9 points, 5.4 assists, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. The next month, he became more inconsistent and saw his figures drop. Poole averaged 15 points, 4.3 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game in November. Sure, he had a few big nights, but the Golden State Warriors needed him to be consistent.

As a result, coach Steve Kerr reached a point this season where he got fed up with his team. Poole became one of the reasons why the Warriors were experiencing a slump. Apparently, the young guard realized his shortcomings and is now undergoing a midseason awakening.

In December, the Golden State Warriors won 53.3% of their games. Poole was one of the main reasons why the team started winning again, as he averaged 26.8 points, 3.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game that month. In fact, he also had a couple of 40-point games, putting up 43 against the Toronto Raptors and 41 against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Entering the new year, Jordan Poole seems to have kept his rhythm going. In his last three games, he has averaged 24.3 points, 5.7 assists and five rebounds. Golden State are now the sixth seed with a record of 20-20 on the season. If Poole and the Warriors can stay consistent, the defending champions could be in the playoffs again.
