What did LeBron James' mother Gloria James say on her son breaking Kareem's record?
Nobody knows LeBron James better than Gloria James, his mother. The proud and excited mother was on center court to congratulate his son on becoming the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
In her book, there’s no argument about the biggest debate that has raged on for years:
“You da GOAT, no question.”
On a fadeaway jumper on top of the key over the OKC Thunder’s Kenrich Williams, James scored 38,388 points to claim Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s throne. “Cap” has held the record since April 5, 1984, seven months before Gloria James gave birth to his son.
The mother-and-son tandem may have had humble beginnings in Akron, Ohio, but they have surely worked their way to the top of the NBA.
Gloria James and the James gang prepared a special message for LeBron James
The LA Lakers rightfully worked on something that should make LeBron James happier than any of the congratulatory messages he’ll be receiving. They made sure he got something from the family.
Gloria James had this to say to “da GOAT:”
“Hey, kid, congratulations on becoming the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, such an accomplishment. I’m so happy for you and so very proud of you. You know, since you were young, all the goals you’ve set, you’ve accomplished on and off the court. Some weren’t even goals but yet here you are again exceeding expectations.
She added:
“I have to say it goes all the way back to he’s like two, three-and-a-half years old, still in pull-ups, and he received his tight little basketball hoop for Christmas. He was just determined to play basketball on it at its highest height, which was twice his height.
