"What y'all been patiently waiting for" - LeBron James stoked about fans hyped over him & Steph Curry teaming up on Team USA
Last night, the basketball world witnessed LeBron James and Steph Curry representing USA Basketball together for the first time. They played against Canada at USA Basketball Showcase at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
One of the highlights from the game was a fastbreak between the two legends that led to an alley-oop pass from Curry to James. James posted the highlight on Instagram and included a caption for fans excited to see him playing together with Curry.
"Is what ya'll been patiently waiting for," James posted. "Well, we're here now! Let's get it. Summer time vibes."
It was an impressive outing for USA Basketball as the Warriors star finished with 12 points (4-of-7 shooting), while LeBron James contributed seven points (3-of-7 shooting) and five rebounds.
LeBron James talked about playing alongside Steph Curry for Team USA
Following Team USA's 86-72 win, LeBron James was ecstatic after playing alongside Steph Curry, as their instant connection was on full display.
"Just two guys — we love to play the game of basketball," James said in his postgame interview. "Try to share to each other. I missed him in the first half on a wide-open three that I threw out of bounds, but he was able to connect with me on the lob. It's fun. We play the game at a high-level, but more importantly we play the game that we love the right way, and that's the result of it."
Although LeBron James highlighted a missed opportunity involving a potential assist from him to a wide-open Curry at the three-point line, they still displayed flashes of brilliance as teammates.
The ball club still has a few more exhibition games to go through before the actual international competition commences. Each contest will provide the perfect opportunity for the team to hone their chemistry to fully unlock their potential together.
After their disappointing loss to Canada in last year's bronze medal match at the FIBA World Cup, this year's Team USA is determined to redeem their reputation.
