“When I get ready for war, I'm not worried about who's on the other side" – Memphis All-Star says he’s not worried about offseason moves made by the team

Ja Morant and the grizzlies" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-is-sponsored="false">Memphis Grizzlies are looking forward to what the 2022-23 NBA season has in store for them. With the moves made by the team's front office, Morant isn't a bit worried about who they face.

As one of the most electrifying players in the league today, Morant isn't phased out one bit as to who he comes across. The Grizzlies started their regular season against the New York Knicks on Wednesday night. Grizzlies fans are expecting the team to have an amazing season, given their success last season.

Morant was asked how he and the team would deal with matchups this season. The fourth-year player out of Murray State answered the question with so much confidence in himself and his team:

"Me, personally, when I get ready for war, I'm not worried about who's on the other side. I'm worried about what I got, and that's what I'm rolling with. So, as far as who we made, any offseason moves, I'm not worried about it. They gotta see Memphis."

Morant and the Grizzlies are coming off an incredible season, reaching the second round of the playoffs and even having a chance to beat the Golden State Warriors.

The team has improved a lot since they drafted Morant and built a decent team around the young point guard. In just three seasons, Morant has carved an intense identity for the young Grizzlies. He's also poised to be an MVP candidate this season after winning the Most Improved Player award last season.

The Memphis Grizzlies' roster is deep this season

The Grizzlies are surely a big threat in the Western Conference this season. Their recent success has transformed the team into dark horse status. Led by Morant, the team has kept the same players and added a few key pieces.

The front office decided not to gamble by trading for a superstar over the summer. Memphis kept the same people on the roster and is looking forward to winning with what they had last season. The only notable addition was when Memphis traded for Danny Green.

The team also found a gem. The front office signed Kenny Lofton Jr. on a two-way deal after going undrafted. Over the Summer League games, he became an instant fan favorite, and people are excited to see him play this season.

Ja Morant could go for the MVP award this season

Last season, Ja Morant was the recipient of the MIP award. Many thought that he was too good for the award. He finished seventh in the MVP race.

Given his talent and high ceiling, it would be no surprise for Morant to be included in the MVP race again. He's good enough to be the MVP and has shown tremendous improvement over the years. However, there are some obvious favorites who Morant should be able to outperform. Players like Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo will all be going for the award as well.

Morant has taken the Grizzlies to a whole new level. Their season should be a treat for fans.
