When will Kyrie Irving's 'Kaileidoscope' Anta KAI 1's release? A look at price, specs, and more
The Kyrie Irving Anta KAI 1 continues to excite fans with another colorway release. After dropping “Speed” in the NBA Finals, the brand will roll out the “Kaileidoscope” on Aug. 31. Irving is enjoying his offseason but his line of shoes from the Chinese brand isn’t taking a slack.
The Dallas Mavericks point guard signed a deal with Anta a few months after Nike severed its ties with the mercurial point guard. “Uncle Drew” isn’t just his new company’s face in basketball, he is also the Chief Creative Officer. Since dropping the “Kaiverse,” multiple colorways have been steadily made available to the public.
The “Kaileidoscope” reportedly stays true to its name. Anta gave it different hues, particularly near the heel where grey, black, red and white smoothly blend. The brand’s description on their Instagram page says it all:
“Inspired by Kyrie’s offensive kaleidoscope— a mesmerizing blend of dribble moves, footwork, and finishing abilities— the ANTA KAI 1 KAI-LEIDOSCOPE is designed to reflect the dazzling and ever-changing nature of Kyrie’s game.”
The Kyrie Irving Anta KAI 1 “Kaileidoscope” will be available online and in select retail stores.
How much is the Kyrie Irving Anta KAI 1 “Kaileidoscope”?
Like the other colorways, the “Kaileidoscope” is available for $125. The “Garden State,” “Green Grails,” “Playoffs Energy,” “Enlightened Warrior” and “Artist on Court” are still available on Anta’s website.
Kyrie Irving Anta KAI 1 Specs
The Anta KAI 1 has come in different colorways but the specs have remained the same. Most early reviewers were happy with the outsole’s performance. The shoe has a unique rubber pattern at the bottom that gives it superb traction. It doesn’t look as aggressive as some of Irving’s shoes with Nike but it performs as expected.
The Nitro Edge foam in the midsole gives the shoes a firm but comfortable bounce. Reviewers noted the “stable” cushioning that makes the shoe ideal even for bigger players. For speedy guards who need to stop and start at a moment’s notice, the midsole is tailor-made for them.
Comfort and support stand out in the Kyrie Irving Anta KAI 1 “Kaileidoscope”
The most notable part of Irving's shoes with Anta is the large midfoot strap. It helps hold the foot down in support. The feature isn’t the only one that secures the foot in place. A heel counter, a carbon fiber shank plate and the laces keep the foot locked in place. For its $125 price, it has to be one of the best value-for-money shoes available.
